[00:00:00] How Do I Actually Make An Engaging Clip or How Do I Turn My Long Form Into Short Form?

[00:00:04] What Is The Result That You're Looking For? Do You Want Just The Number Of Views To Go Up or Actually Do You Want More Engaging Conversations?

[00:00:11] But I Think A Lot Of People Get So hung up on like, What Is The Edit Gonna Look Like? What Is The Message Actually Good?

[00:00:17] Is The Message Actually Fit For A Great Edit?

[00:00:20] The Foundation Is A Good Message, Right? If You Don't Have A Good Message, Unfortunately, No Sort Of Editing

[00:00:27] Is Going To Polish That And Make It Viewable.

[00:00:31] People Are Not Going To Want To See That.

[00:00:32] 80% Of Your Content Is Content That You Know Is Working Up To This Point

[00:00:38] And Then 20% You Can Test New Things.

[00:00:42] What Are You Doing Today To Create That Environment Where You Can Create Consistently, Frequently,

[00:00:47] Work On Your Message, Get Better Every Single Day,

[00:00:49] And Don't Forget To Put It Out.

[00:00:55] Hey Guys, Welcome Back To Content Is Profit.

[00:00:57] Today, Small, Short,

[00:01:01] Awesome Episode.

[00:01:03] Finally Got Fonzie Here.

[00:01:05] What's Up, Man? How You Doing?

[00:01:06] I'm Back. Hello.

[00:01:08] Sexy Boys.

[00:01:09] But Anyways, We've Been Like Sharing These Like Videos Back And Forth.

[00:01:12] You know, I send In One Video, I send Me The Other One.

[00:01:14] And There's Some Elements That I Really Want To Talk About.

[00:01:17] A Couple Clips For A Couple Of Creators That You Know We Followed.

[00:01:22] And Yesterday, I Was Able To Record A Workshop.

[00:01:25] A Short Form Content Workshop With Our Amazing Partners At Capture.

[00:01:30] And There's A Lot Of Elements You Know That You Know That You Know, A Lot Of Questions That

[00:01:33] People Are Asking Like How Do I Actually Make An Engaging You Know Clip?

[00:01:36] Or How Do I Turn My Loan Form Into Short Form?

[00:01:39] Which By The Way, If You Guys Need Help With That, Happy To Help.

[00:01:42] That's Kind Of What We Do As A Business.

[00:01:45] But Fonzie Just Send Me This Awesome Clip.

[00:01:48] Why Don't You Describe It A Little Bit.

[00:01:50] We Might Put It On The Screen.

[00:01:52] I Mean It Was A Short Hook For A YouTube Video From A Team Of Guys That They Create.

[00:02:00] They're Mostly Known For Their Animations That They Create.

[00:02:03] Very Unique Type Of Content.

[00:02:05] Right, I Think They're One Of The Few That I've Seen Online That They Really Know How To Differentiate Themselves With The Type Of Content.

[00:02:14] Like They're So Original.

[00:02:16] Yeah.

[00:02:16] And This One Had Way Less Animation.

[00:02:19] They Went Like Tone It Down.

[00:02:21] But The Hook Of The Video Was Like The Short Itself Was An Incredible Hook For The Long Form Piece Of Content.

[00:02:29] And I Thought I Mean Obviously It Was Scripted The The Whole Structure Of The Of The Video Right.

[00:02:36] The Hook Of The Short Was Incredible.

[00:02:39] The Music On It.

[00:02:41] The Tonality.

[00:02:42] Even The Pauses In Between Certain Parts Of The Script Was...

[00:02:47] You Can Tell It Was Thought Of And It Was Incredible.

[00:02:50] And I Think It's Those Type Of Content With That Level Of Intention.

[00:02:55] The Ones That Separate Good Creators From The Rest.

[00:02:59] So If You're Listening You Know We'll Play The Clip Right Now.

[00:03:02] This Is The World's Most Dangerous Pool.

[00:03:06] The Devil's Pool And It Almost Killed Me.

[00:03:10] So December 2022 There's This Pool In The Heart Of Africa Along The Zambezi River.

[00:03:16] And Then Just Go To YouTube You Might Be Able To Watch It But Also I Think A Characteristic Of This Clip Was Like The Sound Design That's Behind It Right.

[00:03:24] And This Was A Conversation That I Had With The Workshop And The Capture Customers Is A Lot Of People Are Trying To Maybe Create Something Like That Right.

[00:03:32] But They Might Not Understand The Resources Or The Time That It Takes To Do Something You Know Like That Right.

[00:03:37] So The Way That We Described It Was There Might Be Different Tiers Of The Type Of Content That You Create.

[00:03:41] And Again The Goal Of This Specific Clip Was To Hook You And Drive You To Their Main YouTube Video About That Topic.

[00:03:51] And You Know They Set Several Pieces Right.

[00:03:54] The Hook For The Clip And Then The Clip Hooks You For The Main Video Right.

[00:03:59] And I Personally Haven't Seen The Main Video But I Think Like To Have That Objective Clear Number One Is Really Important.

[00:04:06] And Then Two Right A Lot Of People Might Not Have The Skills To Do Something Like That But It's Like What Are The Elements That We Can Grab From That Clip And Be Like Can We Use It In Something Like A Talking Head Video Or From A Podcast Or How Do We Actually Pick The Right Clip From A Podcast.

[00:04:21] Like As For Example Right.

[00:04:23] So It's Really Important Right.

[00:04:24] So In Your You Know I Think Bringing It To The Other Clip That I Saw Initially Is From One Of The Creators From HubSpot.

[00:04:32] Yeah Before You Go To That One I Just Want To Add Something In Here Right.

[00:04:37] Their Editing Is Absolutely Amazing Right.

[00:04:39] They Got That Fancy Editing Going On But I Think It's Very Important To Mention That The Fancy Editing The Ultronized Editing Won't Save You If There Is No Man

[00:04:51] It's A Good Message Right.

[00:04:51] Like We Talked About It The Foundation Is A Good Message Right.

[00:04:55] If You Don't Have A Good Message Unfortunately No Sort Of Editing Is Going To Polish That And Make It You Know Viewable.

[00:05:05] People Are Not Going To Want To See That And I Think That's Interesting Because These Guys Actually Started Doing Podcast Clips At First.

[00:05:13] Yeah.

[00:05:13] And I Recently Saw A Video Where They Got It.

[00:05:15] And I Think That's Interesting.

[00:05:16] Like We Were Having This Podcast Clips With Incredible Effects And Whatever But It Doesn't Matter Like Even If It Had The Best Editing And The Best Animation Which Animation Takes A Very Long Time To Do.

[00:05:28] Yeah.

[00:05:28] Like The Content Wouldn't Take Off Right.

[00:05:32] As Much As They Wanted To Right.

[00:05:35] Or As Much As They Thought It Would Because The Message Why In There They Said You Know Doesn't Have A Good Hook.

[00:05:41] It Doesn't Have A Good Story.

[00:05:42] The Structure Of It Is Very Very Important Right.

[00:05:45] And Yes There Are Podcast Clips And Elements Of Conversations Right.

[00:05:50] Long Form Content That You Can Potentially Structure In A Way To Maximize The Reach Right.

[00:05:56] Maximize The Resonance That It Will Have With The Audience.

[00:06:00] But At The End Of The Day Intentional Content Right.

[00:06:03] I Think It Will Be Always More Efficient Right.

[00:06:07] If You Create A Piece Of Content With A Very Specific Goal In Mind.

[00:06:12] That Being Said I Still Believe Personally That Of Course There Is A Place For This Multipurpose Type Of Content Of Podcast Clips Etc.

[00:06:21] Ways To You Know Stay In Front Of Your Audience.

[00:06:24] And I Think Also You Know What What Game Might You Be Playing As A Creator Or As An Entrepreneur Right.

[00:06:30] Like So Obviously A Clip Like That That It Implies That There Were More Resources Pour Into It.

[00:06:36] Whether That'S A Budget Or A Team Or Even Your Skills Right.

[00:06:40] It Will Put You The Perspective Towards You Is Going To Change A Little Bit Right.

[00:06:45] Like The Quality Of The Footage Imagine A Zoom Call Versus In Studio 4K Recording For Example Right.

[00:06:51] So I Think There'S Like Some Value In There Here And There But The Same Of The Like How Much Of That Right.

[00:06:56] Like Is It Actually Worth It For The Amount Of Content Like Before We Even Worry About The Message Right.

[00:07:00] At The End Of The Day The Message Is That Foundation That We Really Need To Work And Make Sure That It Works Right.

[00:07:06] And An Example Is Frank Kern You Know Frank Kern Big Marketer Right.

[00:07:10] He Published His First YouTube Video After Two Years Probably A Couple Weeks Ago And It'S A Talking Head Video Single Angle Zoom In Zoom Out.

[00:07:20] That'S It No Presentation Or Nothing.

[00:07:21] Yeah.

[00:07:22] And He'S Really Good At Sharing Stories And Sharing The Lesson And Teaching You Right.

[00:07:26] He Calls It Intent Based Market Right.

[00:07:29] I'M Actually Gonna

[00:07:30] You Gotta Brand Everything.

[00:07:32] He Says I'I'I'll Teach You The Thing By Teaching You The Thing Right.

[00:07:35] Like Which Is Incredible And It'S Very Valuable Right.

[00:07:39] And Go To His YouTube Channel Again.

[00:07:40] We'Re Not Partners With Him Nothing Like We Would Love To To Meet Him In Person.

[00:07:44] I Actually Met Him In Person By The Way.

[00:07:45] Fun Story But Story For Different Podcast.

[00:07:47] But That'S A Good Example Of...

[00:07:49] You Guys Are In The Bathroom Peeing At The Same Time.

[00:07:51] Yeah Dude He'S Tall.

[00:07:53] He'S Very Tall.

[00:07:55] Keep The Details For A Different Day.

[00:07:58] But Anyways That'S A Good Example Of A Master At The Message And Probably The Retention In That Video Is Really Really High Right.

[00:08:07] And It Comes Down To At The End Of The Day How We Wanna Like Set Up Our Frameworks Or Content Frameworks Or Team

[00:08:12] Or How Do We Wanna Set Them Up For Success.

[00:08:15] Or Set Yourself Up For Success If You'Re The One Creating The Content To Put In The Time And The Practice And The Reps For That Message.

[00:08:23] Whether That'S Like Short Form Or Long Form.

[00:08:26] Or I Like To Believe That After 500 Episodes Of This Podcast We Have Become Better Right.

[00:08:31] Maybe I'M Speaking A Little Bit Slower.

[00:08:34] I Don'T Know.

[00:08:35] Maybe.

[00:08:36] But Then At The Same Time That It Comes Down To The Video That I Sent Fancy Earlier Is About One Of Our Hospital Creators That He...

[00:08:44] I... Every Time I See A Video Of Him It'S Like In The Same I Guess Environment.

[00:08:49] He Has A Setup.

[00:08:49] Right?

[00:08:50] But He Was Talking About A Reaction That He Had Over Somebody Else...

[00:08:55] Almost Like Critiquing Like The...

[00:08:58] It Wasn'T Critiquing Him But It Was Talking About How This Person Said That Creators Need To Have Their Style And They Need To Have Kind Of Like Their Series Of Things That People Know What To Expect Right.

[00:09:11] If You'Re Creating Content And It'S Always Different...

[00:09:14] Changing Yeah.

[00:09:14] It Can Confuse Your Audience But If The Audience Know Exactly What To Expect Right.

[00:09:18] You Have A Very Specific Series...

[00:09:20] I Just Got Called Out And I Hurt My Feelings.

[00:09:22] This Creator Was Talking On The Stories About How Creators Mess Up And He Was Saying Most Of Y'All Don'T Have A Consistent Style.

[00:09:28] Just Doing A Bunch Of Different Stuff And It'S Confusing Your Audience.

[00:09:31] You Didn'T Say My Name Directly But It'S Accurate.

[00:09:33] Trying So Many Different Things Experimenting A Little Bit Too Much.

[00:09:36] Best Creators Have A Consistent Format.

[00:09:38] What I See Is A Lot Of Creators Ride A Specific Format Until They Hit A Certain Level Of Trust With Their Audience Then They Can Venture Out.

[00:09:47] I Got To Figure Out My Freaking Format.

[00:09:49] And I Think A Great Example Is Obviously The Top Mr. Beast Red.

[00:09:51] We Always Talk About Mr. Beast.

[00:09:53] He Has A Very Unique Style And Type Of Video That He Creates And People Expect That Pretty Much Every Single Time.

[00:09:58] Yeah. Also Like If You'Re Creating Let's Say Podcast Content Right.

[00:10:01] And All The Sudden You Go On An Adventure And You Record Like A Vlog That Has Nothing To Do With It.

[00:10:05] Not Only Your Established Audience Might Get A Little Bit Confused If You Don'T Explain What That Is Or Why That'S In There.

[00:10:12] But Also What They Were Talking About Was The Algorithms Right.

[00:10:15] They Won'T Know Who To Show It To Because They'Been Reacting And They'Been Trying To Show It To Similar People That Are Consuming Your Content.

[00:10:22] Which Is I Think It'S Really Interesting Right.

[00:10:24] And On Our Side I Think My Personal Point Of View After Listening To Him Is Also Removing The Friction From The Creation Process Right.

[00:10:34] Because If You'Re Changing Environments Every Single Time It'S Like How Do You How Do You How Can You Create An Environment Where It'S Very Easy For You To Sit Down Work On Your Message And Put It Out There Consistently Repeatedly Right.

[00:10:47] And There'S Layers Of Quality That You Can Start Improving Over Time But I Think A Lot Of People Get So Hung Up On Like What Is The Edit Gonna Look Like What Is The Message Actually Good.

[00:10:56] Is The Message Actually Fit For A Grade Edit Right.

[00:11:00] Because Like The Clip That We Just Saw There'S A Story Happening Right.

[00:11:05] There'S Like There'S A Description Happening There'S There'S Elements That You Can Play With In The Edit To Enhance That But If We Don'T Work On Our Message It'S Going To Be Really Challenging To Get To That Point.

[00:11:14] So With That Said What Are You Doing Today To Create That Environment Where You Can Create Consistently Frequently Right.

[00:11:21] Work On Your Message Get Better Every Single Day And Don'T Forget To Put It Out.

[00:11:26] Find A Format And A Series That You Can Follow.

[00:11:28] Find A Format And A Series That You Can Follow.

[00:11:29] Yeah. I Think I'M Going To Add To That.

[00:11:31] I Agree With That Message That You Need To Find Kind Of Like Something That Is Working For You.

[00:11:38] But At The Same Time And We Talk About This With Our Customers Which Is You Have To Consistently Still Be Testing A New Format Right.

[00:11:47] So 80% Of Your Content Is Content That You Know Is Working Up To This Point And You Can Be Consistently

[00:11:56] Consistent With It And Frequent With It Right.

[00:11:58] And You Can Produce It On A Cadence And Then 20% You Can Test New Things Right.

[00:12:04] So If Usually You Have Content Like This One Right.

[00:12:08] Like Some Sort Of Talking Head That You Bring 10 Different You Know Questions And You Answer Them Specifically With A Story And That Is Your Main Piece Of Content And That Has Been Working For You.

[00:12:18] That'S Great. Keep Doing That.

[00:12:20] But The Other 20% Of Content Right.

[00:12:22] Like The One Piece Of Content A Week That You'Re Going To Test.

[00:12:25] Maybe You Go Out And Do A Series On Interviewing People In The Street With A Very Specific Question And Then You Test It Out And See If It Works.

[00:12:34] And If That Works Well Then Where Do Where Are You Going To Put Your Resources Now Right.

[00:12:40] There'S A Decision That Has To Be Made.

[00:12:41] Now Are You Going To Keep Doing What You'Ve Been Doing That No Works To A Certain Extent But Now That You Have Something That You Proved That Is Better.

[00:12:49] It'S An Improvement Right.

[00:12:51] Can You Potentially Shift Some Of Your Resources Into Doing That And That Becoming Your 80% And Now Trying To Find That New 20% Or Even Have A Season Where That Becomes The 100%.

[00:13:02] Yeah.

[00:13:02] And Then Or You Can Even Split 50-50 Right.

[00:13:05] Between What You Were Doing Before And And That New Format.

[00:13:08] But I Think You Yes Do The Series But At The Same Time Always Be Testing New Things Because At The End Of The Day That'S The Way You Can Improve Right.

[00:13:18] And By Improvement Here When We Usually Talk About Content Is Are We Getting The Attention Of More People Right.

[00:13:25] And At The Same Time What Is The Result That You'Re Looking For?

[00:13:28] Do You Want Just The Number Of Views To Go Up Or Actually Do You Want More Engaging Conversations?

[00:13:33] So Obviously It'S Very Important How You Measure That Right.

[00:13:37] We Recently Saw A Video That Went Viral Of This Is Like A Real Estate Guy That The Video Said My Gen Z Send Me An Edit Of The Video And It Was A Video Of Him Catching Up His Breath Every Time Before He Was Starting To Talk Right.

[00:13:51] It Was Something Like The Whole Video Right.

[00:13:54] It Was Like That And It Was Hilarious And The Video Had 33 Million Views But You Know Obviously From Judging That As Reach Very Successful.

[00:14:03] But Now I'm Curious On How Did That Actually Translated Into Business For The Guy Right.

[00:14:10] Like Did People Actually I Do Believe People Went Back And Consume More Of His Content But I'm Still Like Does The Other Content Support That You Know Enhancement Of Viewers Enhancement Of Visitors Into Your Profile That Then You Can Convert And Turn Into Conversations And Business Right.

[00:14:27] Because It'S Very Different Things If You'Re Aiming For Just Let Me Get A Whole Bunch Of Views And Then Try To Monetize That The Views.

[00:14:34] Versus I Actually Have A Business And I Have To Sell A Product

[00:14:37] Right.

[00:14:38] Like Those Translate Differently So When You'Re Thinking About Your Series You'Re Think About Your

[00:14:43] Series You'Re Think About Your Goals And How You'Re Producing All That.

[00:14:45] A Hundred Percent.

[00:14:46] No I Love It And I Think You Know If You If You'Re Listening And You'Re Watching If You Have Any Questions You Can Reach Us At

[00:14:51] At BizBroseGo On Social Media We'Re Happy To Jump On I Was Just On A Open Q&A Session With

[00:14:56] Somebody That'S Trying To Figure Out Like Their Clipping Starting They Might Not Be Able To Invest Right Now But We'Re Always Happy To Help Because At The End Of The Day We Do Believe That You Have A Message

[00:15:05] You Know Whether You'Re The Business Owner You Are The Creator There Is A Message That Somebody Needs And By You Know Stopping Because Of These Like Little Things That We Believe That Are Totally False We Stop Creating We'Re Not Big Fans Of That Right.

[00:15:21] What We Want To Do Is Like How Can You Work On Your Message Consistently And Frequently Right.

[00:15:25] And These Two Elements That Or These Two Clips That We Saw Today Kind Of Ignited That Thought Process And You Know We Want To Encourage You To Go Create Put Your Content Now Consistently With Us Micro Content

[00:15:36] Whether It'S A Podcast Find Your Series Find Your Environment Remove The Friction So You Can Start Creating Consistently So I Just Want To Come In Here Today And Do That Fancy Any Last Thoughts?
