[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_02]: A previous guest of the show, she's putting these class together with not just students but his people that want to go learn podcasting and we had a group of a few comments to the studio
[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_03]: They were not learning about levels and equalizing your audio and all that stuff. They were in really-
[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know you don't
[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Number one question that a lot of people come here to say, how do you monetize?
[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_03]: How do you make money from the podcast?
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Every single person probably has a phone that could record audio and video
[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Quality of the message of a quality of the production.
[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. Take a look at your schedule and what are the resources that you have in order to bring your vision to?
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_03]: If that's what's going to make a podcast good, it's not about do you have a back like that is a flash yet not
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It's about the quality of what you're listening to
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_02]: What's up everybody? Welcome back to Content Is Profit today
[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We have a fun one something happened last week
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Well lots of things happened last week, but in studio we had the visit of a podcasting class
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_02]: of University of North Florida or alma mater or at least my alma mater.
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Well me too I graduated.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you?
[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. I just never went to a graduation
[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_03]: He's like no, not about that life, no kidding. I don't know. What do you- what did you go to the graduation?
[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Because there was nobody here like well why am I going to go to like
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to go to pick up his or paper that actually there's not even the piece of paper there.
[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You have to like go to the office and then pick the actual diploma pay before the diploma after you'll pay for like four years of education
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_03]: And I mean the people that I love
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_03]: We're in here. I mean you're here, but mom and dad we're in here. Thank you. You know
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_02]: No need to go.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Funcey one the systems year by anyways
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_03]: You saw it as a waste of time.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_02]: We continue to engage with them because honestly they have pretty interesting programs right and and Rita who was a previous guest of the show
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_02]: She's putting these class together with not just students, but he's people that want to go learn podcasting
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And we had a group of a few coming to the studio. I personally wasn't there and we haven't really debrief what happened or you kind of told me
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh it was actually really good experience so I wanted to break it down live here on the show
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So what's up Fancy tells a little bit more of what happened and how is the whole experience?
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Very broad question. I apologize for my energy and voice in advance. I feel like I'm getting a little sick in here
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: So it's kind of rough. No, no, that's the throw hurts
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: That being said I mean it was a fun experience is having people come over
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_03]: See the studio. I don't think none of them has ever seen like a professional
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_03]: studio and then some of them
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Had different levels of podcasting experience
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I think a couple had about 50 episodes produced some haven't released their podcast at all
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so it was fun just to have them in and ask questions about our experience what we've done
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: You know how we work or podcast. Why do we do with the studio? What type of people come to the studio?
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: All sorts of questions which was pretty interesting and then they used some of their time to
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Record their intros and now chose for what I'm guessing is the shows that are working in the class
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, that's awesome. So you mentioned there's certain levels right you have beginners and then you have people that have
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Been producing them a little bit more did they have like any specific questions about
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: But casting because I had a call this morning with somebody has lunch in their new show
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, we can dive into that in a little bit but where are the any specific questions that they had
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Where they looking for like elevating their production?
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Not really. I mean, they didn't know how to use the roadcaster like a mixer, right? So I had to guide them through that just a little bit and
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_03]: You know some people don't know what you don't know
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think some people they're just
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_03]: We're in our world some of the tools that are out there too
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Enhanced their production of their podcasts or just make it easier on the process for them like the roadcasters one of the
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_03]: tools that we recommend the most but they didn't really have any any questions right then again
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm attaching to that to the they don't know what they don't know right? Yeah, maybe for them up professionally produce podcasts is
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: You know those big makesers and you know like those kind of like yeah more
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Probably even more professional right setups for in like music studios that they have the machines with like tons of levers on all that stuff
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Again, maybe they did it or not. No exactly well questions to ask the one question that did that I did get from one of them
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Specifically to like podcasting was mostly from
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Just how do you make money right from the podcast and I think that's a
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Number one question that a lot of people come here to say how do you monetize how do you make money doing this?
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: etc, right so obviously I got I got it them through
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_03]: What we've sure multiple times here on the show which is
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: How we use or podcast to build relationships on those relationships turning to opportunities and they are now a little bit of a hypothesis
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_03]: When our growth partners that we potentially gonna try with the football show I mean it's not it's something that works
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It just we just haven't done it ourselves just because we attached a service but
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We certainly has show that around that that do it
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like funny that you mentioned about the equipment because you know have this story
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Remember from one of the walks that we did in one of the events and I remember meeting this specific guy
[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: He had a list of probably
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You know 20 different things that he wanted to buy and I think it was about five thousand dollars
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I would like oh, that's awesome. What's your podcast about and the guy has in lunch or podcast?
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I was like oh
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's green j and I think at the time where maybe halfway through a podcast maybe 200 some episodes and
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know the number one reason I think we're able to lunch the show in the time that we did it for us was like we needed something right out there
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: To connect with people want to figure the content play out
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Was the little friction of let's get it out there
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_02]: With the equipment that we have today, right? So somehow you know every single person probably has a phone that could record audio and video
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Right out there and
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That's literally enough to probably lunch. I show and again
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Quality of the message over quality of the production so every time I see a lot of people with lists or yeah
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: We have this equipment that's collecting does it I just cringe a little because you know to lunch it
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It is not really needed right today and again quality
[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Very subjective I think and we had these guy come in last week
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Great awesome dude that has been like in the music industry for a long time and a
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Lot of the questions that he's been asking was also around the production aspect on the equipment
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So he thought he needed to be like in the room controlling everything and you know
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He had one of those big consoles where he like
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Modifies the levels and things and that's something that now today we post production maybe with some of the software's other out there
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You can do but equipment like the roadcaster like say we're not sponsored by any means by them, but we just used them for the last five years
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Makes like really
[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I really good quality product if you want to put your message out there at an accessible
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Price point so why don't the levels that you see like production wise right because they were
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_02]: They came here clearly in a two-a-professional environment to learn a little more about production
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I see almost like a you know beginner intermediate and advanced right how do you see it?
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't think they came in here on only for the production. They just
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Think it was more like a filtrip if it felt like more like a filter that they wanted to see
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what the studio looked like the setup and yeah some of the equipment
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_03]: But they weren't really like they were not learning about
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_03]: You know levels and you know equalize in your audio and all that stuff. They were in really I don't know
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know you don't
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So I mean one of the guys did ask because I turn on the computer and I was like hey look like when you get your file
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Like home this is how it's gonna look like so I showed them that the roadcaster gives you like 14 tracks
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Right if you have it on raw yeah, and they were like whoa, okay
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_03]: So like let me break it down for you. You know the first tool or like the mix meaning everything is like together, you know already kind of like equalize like sounds good
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to think guys was like how do you know all this and I was like
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I dove deep into it. You know like when we when we started creating our first podcast
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I just wanted to have a quality product and I said whoa, let me educate myself
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Like then wasn't mostly on on the video side of things messaging for us as well and then when we got the studio as I will
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I need to learn more about audio a little bit so yeah, I dove a little bit deeper into that and some of the concepts and again
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't consider myself an expert by any means
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_03]: But I think I know more than the average person even the average podcast or right so I can help them it's gonna like
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Step one step ahead out of the people that you're trying to help and then
[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_03]: You're gonna be able to help them take the next step. Yeah, I think
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Gosh
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_01]: What's going on?
[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_01]: allergic
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I got something oh my nose. That's funny
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_02]: You know to start wrapping it up and I think you know
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe advice for some people there just this morning we had somebody else launching a show here in the studio right and
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: We had to go through the publishing pyramid where the the top you have resources right whether that's like your time money team
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You know then right below that you have the capacity of those resources, you know how much can we do
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And these this specific couple they are
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: They are amazing. They're still fun. They have a fun concept that they want to kind of put out there
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_02]: They have a really interesting mission and they want to reach
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: On one side the relationships to continue to move their business and then on the other side
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: The feel very passionate about helping the potential audience that's there
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But also they're looking at this as in like I'm gonna have to dive in maybe a be a content creator
[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think sometimes that can be very intimidating for a little people right and it's
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Making sure that we can divide you know business own our versus or business operator versus
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You know the content creator right and for them, you know
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_02]: They were able to hire our team to go and undo the production aspect so now they have a little more resources
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I they have a little more capacity and then we have to start accounting for they were trying to plan these episodes with like multiple formats
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Like multiple sections of it right and each of those formats my add a level complexity to the
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Planning right and the prep that they might have to do right, so when we started actually going deep into
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, the messaging of these episodes and what it would take to produce something like this
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, we quickly find out that maybe for the initial first month they will not have time to do the proper research at the front
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_02]: To be able to you know do the final version that they want right or they have to make some adjustments in the private life with their kids
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Because they both work they both have kids. They like it's just gets crazy so I want to encourage every single person to
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Take a look at your schedule and what are the resources that you that you have in order to bring your vision to life
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And that includes you know equipment that includes
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Production you might not have the time to learn in skills right or to learn this and
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Based off of that, you know if you really really really want to learn great
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: There's you know incredible free resources out there
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You can give us a call. We're happy to help but at the same time
[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't let your message be hindered beat by you know, oh, I don't have the right equipment because then
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: That right right equipment and doing air quotations for those listening
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: My the hindrance because you might not know how to properly use that equipment
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So there's enough tools out there that you can you know recording your phone and put it through a software like
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Discript for example or Adobe and hands and you might have a quality product that you can put out there right
[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And then from there that's your baseline and you can you know tackle 1% and get better every single day or
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you capitalize in those relationships on your business grows and you're able to hire a team that can produce that for you
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think you know
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: That's really useful and above everything quality or the message or recall your operation and at the end when I finally ask hey
[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_02]: What do you have any other questions before we hit out and say oh, well?
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna be recording like multiple episodes in one day and it's
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So as far as like
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: The video side and like how many how many t-shirts do I have to like bring for that day?
[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's a smile because you know, I mean honestly personal preference if you want a different show every episode
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But they gave me a few episode a few podcasts and video podcasts as reference and my game
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: What was the last time you saw I think they they quoted dire the CEO right and
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're like well yeah last week I saw the video and then asked about the other show
[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So what well colored t-shirt did he have and they both spot because they couldn't remember right
[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: The other day we you know the lesson that he always was resin black though
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he always dressed
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he in black but he couldn't remember. I couldn't say it right. We started smiling and I'm like well that's my point right like sometime
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But he does remember what he said in that episode
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So what I encourage every single person out there right like sometimes we worry about the little things and
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of it is like because we looked and we see and we're you know around a hundred percent of our content
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But just know that for somebody out there what you have to say is way more important than how we look
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Or my you might look my help here and there
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_02]: But the end of the day is like what are we saying that's gonna solve somebody else's problem
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Well said
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Anything else you want to add for us here for we head out?
[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm just struggling today too
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Keep it to clip keep it all of my my nasal fluids and so now I appreciate it quality of the message over quality of the production
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and just work on your craft you know work on how you are communicating the problems
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: How are you showcasing the solutions? How are you sharing the stories that's what's gonna make a podcast good?
[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Is not about do you have a backlight that is a flash yet not it's about the quality of what you're listening to
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right guys with that said
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for turning to the contest profit podcast go ahead and follow the show in your favorite podcast in platform
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I know social media at least rose co that is right in today's episode to help you move
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Once they've closer towards your goal, please don't forget to share this episode and of course
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't forget to leave any five star review stay up. Bye guys
