[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_02]: This is your Instagram bio.

[00:00:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope high-performing helpers say fuck you to the mainstream fitness industry, and I love that.

[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Jim Rohn says the life best lived is the life by design.

[00:00:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh okay, I'm just gonna design the life regardless of how difficult it is.

[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_01]: What ignited you to publish at a time where publishing content was not as popular as it is today?

[00:00:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I had a family member tell me point blank that it didn't matter how hard I worked,

[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: it didn't matter how much I learned that I was inevitably going to be over weight and unhealthy,

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: like the vast majority of the male figures in my life.

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_02]: How do you balance that integrity inside of your content so you can also get people's attention?

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Part of it is acknowledging you're not gonna get it perfect ever, you're going to ebb and flow.

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna take time but it feels good while doing it and that's a key indicator for me.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll put in a lot of this one.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_02]: That's up to you.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He likes some music.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I like background music, I like all school radio shows.

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Mava hates it.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Mava hates it, yeah.

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: She is like, take the music away, it bothers me when I'm editing.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Apparently, Hopspaw hates it too but it's fine.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: That is right.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so sorry when we first got into Hopspaw we used to actually record with the background music

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and the producer after we submitted one of our episodes they were like, ah the music has to go.

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, I like this a bit.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, yes.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I like the sounds, the intermittent sounds here and there but the whole music, the whole thing is like,

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_02]: oof, it's kind of rough.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're listening and you're a creator follow your own instincts guys.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't let other people tell you what to do.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Guys welcome back to Contest Prophet officially.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Back to the interviews we haven't recorded in a couple days but you don't notice because

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: you get this episode first a week in your favorite podcasting platform.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: That is right.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And today, Fonseco to hang out a few months ago in this incredible event in Arizona

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_01]: and it came with incredible stories of people that were there and I was a little jealous

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_01]: because you know, I'd love to travel.

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I meet new people but you know that now and usually the the extrovert but I feel like those

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_02]: events they fit my persona and the type of connections I'm seeking for.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So we might talk about that in just a little bit but the guests that we have today.

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh boy.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh boy.

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a video there involving some very famous music band that I'm very curious to ask about.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And also when he started his online presence which is you know a while back.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah he's been in the space for a while but what I love the most about today's guest is

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: his mind man the way he thinks he's very introspective which you know I think it aligns

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: with me a lot with I guess like I feel like you're the introspective brother and I'm like

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I think so too.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He definitely is.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So you know when I met him on the way he speaks the way he communicates

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: is very powerful.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_02]: He has a powerful message.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He has you know a powerful mission as well and we're going to be talking all about it today.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah let's bring him on Patrick.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to this show baby.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for having me.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely man I'm so happy that you're here today you're meeting the other Louise.

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Louise of Louise squared I did not know that prior to this conversation so this is good.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I feel like you might be the only one that doesn't know that.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we kind of advertise that is our marketing move right.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's how we get people to remember us.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: We're like oh we're Louise and Louise and we're brothers.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Tends to be a good surprise for many.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah but we're here to talk about you Patrick and about your content and about how you're

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: linking your content to your business but for context right for people what are

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_02]: what are you doing right what is your mission.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I did tell people that you have a powerful mission and you know again I love your stand

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: on things and just so people get a glance of kind of like the type of person that you are.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_02]: This is your Instagram bio I hope high performing helpers say fuck you to the mainstream

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_02]: fitness industry and I love that you know I love that that position and we're going

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: to be talking all about that but you know what would you describe your mission.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah well thank you for the the wonderful intro it's nice to spend time with you both.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Louise the one of which of one of whom rather I have yet to meet nice to meet you for the first

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_00]: time man so you were sorely missed in Arizona when I got to meet your other half of Louise.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah you would have you know maybe it's a good thing because my dad jokes are you know top

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: high right now so I don't think that would have been a good thing for you guys.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah you and Brian would have had a field day so.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Well cool well thank you for that intro Louise I or do you prefer Fonzie in this context is that why

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Fonzie exists? I didn't know the back. Somehow we know who you're talking to.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah well the Fonzie exists for my brother's own pleasure because he was like you know I want

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: to be the only Louise but you can call me whatever it's easier for you it's all good.

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay Fonzie school because in the world that you and I connected in that's that was the introduction

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_00]: that was made but I always want to honor your preferences around your name and your identity so

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: thanks for that man. So thank you for the introduction yeah my name is Patrick Ryan I

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: am the owner or rather founder and co-owner of Aware Fitness Coaching where myself and my wife

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Megan Ryan to much of what Louise had mentioned or Fonzie rather our role is to help high performing

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: helpers say fuck you to the mainstream fitness industry and the reason we came to that conclusion

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_00]: was because through our continuing ed in the work that we're doing we're coming to find that

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_00]: unfortunately by the year 2030 50% of all American adults will be considered obese

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_00]: and as individuals who are very very keen and they're pay a lot of attention to our most

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_00]: important form of currency being our health and fitness my wife and I see some concerning

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_00]: evidence regarding just the future of the health of our country and the future of the health of

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_00]: the globe and we like to specialize in working with the helpers the people who see the value

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_00]: in helping people and raising those around them up so that way we collectively can have

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: a level of health that we have otherwise never thought was possible and really really helped

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_00]: break people through those mental emotional spiritual physical social environmental existential

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and even financial limitations that they had been given to them by family members society

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and help them break through those so that way we can we can achieve something we all

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: deserve it's our birthright yeah a few things i want to point out here man first the clarity with

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: which you share your message right which tells me well thank you it's taken a lot of practice

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that's where i wanted to go that's exactly where i wanted to go it takes practice right to

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_02]: define that message to test it right you've been doing this for i think a decade or more

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_02]: at this point right and i think it's impressive because i can tell when we ask a question on

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_02]: having a conversation with somebody and when they can express you know their mission

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: and what they do and who they help with this much clarity it tells me that they've put in the

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: practice right and the fact that you can communicate that to others is amazing right

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_02]: because when again translating this into content i don't remember who said this but it's like

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: whoever can express the problem in the best way wins right it's and you just did that right

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: you know exactly how to express it you know exactly who you're helping thank you and then

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: the other thing that i want to point out which is you know a little bit of a marketing nerdy thing

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: is that you have something that you stand against right you have an enemy which is the

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: fitness industry yeah because it spat me out yeah so i want to talk a little bit about that right and

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_02]: it brings me back to when i first started learning about content marketing and you know a lot of

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_02]: people say you need to have an enemy right so that way when creating a community you guys

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_02]: have a common enemy and that's why you see a lot of content from other people you know kind of like

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_02]: talking trash about some other industry or maybe even some other people right in a world was

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_02]: click funnels right when we first started getting into it funnels were you know standing against sales

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_02]: pages is like oh sales pages is so complicated you know a website sorry a website is so complicated

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: let's do a funnel right which is less confusing for your people and it's going to convert better

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_02]: etc and then you you start once you're aware you start seeing those trends everywhere so i'm

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: curious right was that choice on purpose right standing against the mainstream fitness industry

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: why and also how does it affect the community and the people that you're attracting into your business

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah i i think that's an incredible question and a lot of it does come from experience over many

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: many years to continue to provide context to you and your listeners my origin story and my roots

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_00]: in exercise and being a part of the fitness industry in one way shape or form came from

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_00]: starting it my fitness career essentially at the age of 18 you know i was i was going to the school

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: at the university new mexico here in albuquerque new mexico pursuing my degree in exercise science

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and i knew early on that at that time this is when you know i graduated in 2008 so this is

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_00]: that was during the time from my understanding relative to social media that stuff was there

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: there was some momentum building and being from rural new mexico so i grew up in a town south of

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_00]: albuquerque in a town called pralta new mexico which is way more rural than albuquerque proper

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_00]: we had my space accounts that was like the big thing right so we still had dial-up internet it

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: was not lightning speed you had to figure out how and create space to be able to log on and

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: build your digital profile so to speak so yeah there was this transition from 2008 into 2009

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and beyond when i made it to college where i started utilizing youtube and facebook just as a means

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: of socializing on the facebook side of things but when it came to youtube really really getting

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_00]: a sense of what was possible creatively in your free time because that was before

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_00]: to give you context like in some cases i feel like tiktok mirrors old old school og days of youtube

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: where you've had a little bit more creative freedom and agency around the kind of mashups

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: that you would make i would i would spend time between classes watching people's renditions of

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: breaking bad clips coupled with music they liked and it was just super super cool so

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_00]: that was part of my foundation in conjunction with acknowledging i need to work at a

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: at a fitness facility because at the time that was only what was really known was like okay you go

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_00]: to school you you uh open your own brick and mortar or you work for somebody's brick and

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: mortar facility yeah so that was my entry point was i started working at a mainstream

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_00]: fitness facility here in albuquerque new mexico i did that for about eight years nine years

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_00]: i started at the front desk and worked my way up to working as a trainer

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and and being a part of that that team but it was very early on in probably year one

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: i'm working there where i knew i was not going to be doing this job long term

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_00]: and the reason being was i could tell that there were so many gaps that were not being filled in

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: based on the business model of mainstream fitness primarily when it came to personal training was

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_00]: they would market really really well to a point to making the consumer or the client feel like oh

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_00]: i just need to work out with my coach one to two hours a week and then all of my wildest

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: health and fitness dreams will come true when i was able to tell very early on the wildest

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_00]: health dreams were not coming true like yes two hours a week of working out we all can agree

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: is better than none but i was all i was saying oh at least part of the as the company i was a part

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_00]: of it became very clear that they were not very interested in actually helping their members

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and helping their clients get to where they deserve to go and it let me know probably around 2012

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: 2013 time frame that i need to start playing around with building an online infrastructure

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_00]: through the use of text message support phone calls and email because that's really what was

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_00]: available at that time i call it it was the digital equivalent of my garage that was the

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_00]: means of connection and communication i was bridging outside of sessions with clients

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and i wanted to really focus on the 23 hours of the day where people are at the gym

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: those lifestyle miniature you know minuscule adjustments and decisions people make that have

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: the greatest return on the health and fitness they desire because i was having clients come to me

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: frustrated because we couldn't solve everything in two hours a week yeah i um i mean i relate a

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_01]: lot with your journey because i also work for uh like mainstream like fitness in the fitness

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_01]: right more on the sales side managing the studios and you know we had i relate a lot

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_01]: with those type of problems right and and you relate with people thinking they were

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_02]: gonna go for an hour and then be jacked 100 but right after they will go to one dollar slice pizza

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: right next to the city yeah that too nothing wrong with pizza nothing wrong with pizza

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: that infamous uh marketing strategy that we did is like hey if you give us your email we'll give

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_01]: you two free slices and that was definitely not our ideal client but uh we learned a lesson

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_01]: right there but uh i you know i see when people come in right and and you can see

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: the consistent people that go in and they get their results and you know they have some kind of

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: mentality but then you also see the other ones and even though you try to help them out at that point

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_01]: is their decision too if they want to help themselves out and so i saw that there i saw

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_01]: i see that a lot here in the studio too where it's like hey you know these are a couple things

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_01]: that we can do on the content side but you have you're messing super strong you've been at it

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_01]: for quite a while right you decided i saw that problem i'm gonna chase it what was that initial

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_01]: spark do you remember that initial spark when it comes to creation around that we're like this is

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_01]: my way to start putting myself out there and reaching you know the ideal client or what you

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: thought your ideal client was at the time right for us it was more like a hell mary move with a

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_01]: podcast in a sense like we tried so many things and we're like let's see what happens and we

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_01]: found our way that way uh but a lot of people are like super clear be like hey this is my person

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: do you remember that that first moment and what ignited you to publish at a time where publishing

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_00]: content was not as popular as it is today sure um that's a very good question the first thing

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_00]: that comes to mind for me actually has roots in an experience that um was deeply personal for me

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_00]: at a very young age so and i a lot of it is being looked at through the context of providing

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_00]: from what i'm hearing from what you're saying luise providing context around clarity of path

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: right clarity of path and knowing that hey i'm not going to have this figured out but i damn

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_00]: fucking well know that i've got the right path and i'll iron that shit out along the way yeah so

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_00]: for me that started at the age of 19 so i was in school going to school for exercise science and

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_00]: i had a family member tell me point blank that it didn't matter how hard i worked it didn't matter

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_00]: how much i studied it didn't matter how much i learned that i was inevitably going to be

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_00]: overweight and unhealthy like the vast majority of the male figures in my life

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and at the age of 19 being full of piss and vinegar as most of us men are at that age

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: i said fuck you watch me you know i said that internally i did not say that

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah so like i just nodded my head and i was like cool man like you don't know what the

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_00]: fuck you're talking about watch me and so it was a matter of building a lifestyle around

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_00]: staying healthy because at the time i lived in a world that was telling me through family through

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_00]: society through friends that somehow this healthy living thing is just like so fucking out of reach

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_00]: that doesn't matter what you do you can't obtain it so that was the lens i was looking at life

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_00]: through at the age of 19 was just like i'm gonna jim ron says the life best lived is the life by

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_00]: design and i was like oh okay i'm just going to design the life regardless of how difficult it

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_00]: is and through setting that intent intention it really helped create a really unique relationship

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_00]: with exercise and what i mean by that is it makes me think about one of my friends

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_00]: rachel rush she's a world-class cyclist and she talks about uh blood flow or excuse me how did

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_00]: she say it brain flow equals blood flow or blood flow equals brain flow is the better equation

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and in order to access the kind of imaginative state you need of mind to build a life to build

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_00]: a business to leverage against an industry that you know that you know is no longer serving people

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_00]: you need to create a space and in a form of activity that allows you to really really dive

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_00]: deep into your imagination and for me early on in my journey that was the weight room

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_00]: and that was because at the time it was it was a benefit to a degree but i might have pushed it

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_00]: a little too hard it was an outlet for me to vent all the stuff that i was going through as well

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_00]: on a deeper emotional spiritual level hence why i was so big into corn at the time and you know

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_00]: the music matched with pushing myself physically matched with being in school and researching this

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_00]: and learning how all this stuff works created a unifying experience every single time i would

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: work out which would transcend just the physical aspect so it allowed me to get a sense of like

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: sure it'll help you look good but it'll help you feel to a degree that most people can't even

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: comprehend yeah um i hope that helps provide a little bit of context in answering that question

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah 100 it was definitely uh uh the mission of vendetta

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah initially for sure you know as a young as a young kid i was fueled by anger i was fueled

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_00]: by frustration not only in people's limiting beliefs towards me but also that was the only

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_00]: set of tools that i was given at that age when it came to what kind of fuel source i want to use

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to build a life which i have since worked through and fury fury anger aggression does not fuel

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_00]: my day-to-day activity and maintaining the health i want and even the business but

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_00]: that was the initial piece was just somebody imposing a limiting belief on me and me

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_01]: for pushing against that no that that's uh that's interesting right and i think early in our park

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_01]: as episodes like it just uh we had a conversation i can't remember exactly who who was with but they

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: talked about anger or like that or fear could be like the spark to start something but then at

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_01]: some point it has to like transition into something different and just this weekend we were

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_01]: in uh in spokane in a wedding and my five-year-old you know we're in we're in this lake and

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_01]: were you that angry at the wedding no the wedding no no no this is sort of for different podcasts

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_01]: but uh but i remember you know funcie was sitting in the on the dock and uh luke and my five-year-old

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_01]: was in the water and we're like hey luke why don't you jump from the dock right and he's like no

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: i think i'm okay and then funcie goes hey if you jump off the dock i'll jump on in the water

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_01]: with my clothes on dude the second he said that luke turned around ran over the dock and like legit

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_01]: biggest jump that he ever did right and he went from this state of like no i don't think i'm gonna

[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_01]: do it like uh you know maybe i'm a little scared like i don't know what's in the water to like

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: heck yeah i'm gonna go do it and to me that was such an interesting interaction because obviously

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_01]: you know you want your kids to be brave and excited about these new things and with him we

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_01]: work a lot of new things and i was like wow what a hack with this kid to like he's like a challenge

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_01]: is what fuels him right and i think like for a lot of people and entrepreneurs right we have to find

[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_01]: that what is it that fuels us right and you know for me i think personally i like a lot of i like

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_01]: things right like i like okay the cool car i i have a jeep i love jeeps right it's like for

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_01]: that for the longest time that fuel me to get to a point where i could afford a jeep right

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and then for other years i'm like well maybe things are not a good motivation for me and then

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_01]: you know i went to a space where not a lot of things motivated me then experiences did it and then

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_01]: trying to find that as an entrepreneur to keep you moving whether that's a challenge whether

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_01]: that's like proving somebody wrong whether that is like this object that you really really want

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_01]: right like you were reading the 10x is better than 2x right and they talk a lot about the want

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: so i i love the fact that you found the initial fire from a situation like that and you know look at

[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you 10 years later 12 years later right and the incredible position that you're in helping a ton

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_01]: of people so i think that's an incredible reflection that i take for myself to be like oh this is

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_01]: really cool because i can see the long-term benefits on how it can help now is like okay

[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_01]: once that initial fire is there how do we now transition to be like okay i'm helping people

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_01]: i gotta keep this excitement up or i gotta keep consistency up because that's the hard part right

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_01]: that's the that's the challenge when the first like bigger challenge comes in like the big problem

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_01]: like oh i don't know how to solve this what keeps you moving forward on those situations right

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_01]: whether that's like creating more educating more and uh i'm finding solutions for for your customers

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah yeah i love i love that y'all are picking up on that element of paying attention to the

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_00]: fuel source because it continues to make me think about a concept in in psychology i can't remember

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_00]: whose concept it is but it's it's essentially your antithesis or antithesis thesis synthesis and i

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_00]: think what entrepreneurs or mindfully integrated entrepreneurs are trying to do is create

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_00]: this healthy merger of their antithesis and in my case like in some cases the dirty fuel that i had to

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_00]: start and use being angry being resentful a lot of surface level emotions that i only knew how to

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: express at that time and then building or the thesis portion portion of things thinking about what

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of healthy fuel source do i want to build and how do i find that what people do i need

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_00]: to spend time with what conversations do i need to be having what environments do i need to surround

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_00]: myself in in order to create this healthy fuel source and then the synthesis is the merger of

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: both of those worlds and for me a lot of that or many of those seeds were planted in the fall of

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_00]: 2017 and it created this really really incredible merger of the the physical domain of health

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_00]: which is your exercise your movement and your nutrition and the i like to say the mental emotional

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and spiritual slash existential domains of health and there was a very incredible merger of all those

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_00]: domains of deep health through being in new mexico my best friend took me out to the middle of

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_00]: nowhere in new mexico and if you've watched Breaking Bad before one thing that they do a

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_00]: very accurate job of doing is making it see how do i want to say articulating the landscape being a

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_00]: main character in the film because roba quirky it does not take very long to get out into the

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_00]: middle of nowhere and going out into the middle of nowhere the wilderness of the south

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_00]: the south the southwestern desert um i was moved and i was able to gain a deeper understanding

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_00]: appreciation to why i need to stay consistent with my exercise and nutrition so i can interact

[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_00]: in these spaces in a way that most people unfortunately are not currently able to

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and be able to introduce the right people to these spaces so that people can get a better

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_00]: understanding of like when you take care of yourself you're able to expand into being

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_00]: able to take care of other people to support other spaces to support other communities and in my

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_00]: world that's where it becomes more of an environmental existential fuel source of like oh i'm at a point

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_00]: where eating healthy and staying consistent with my exercise is not a problem it'll never be a

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_00]: problem because it's in my dna and i started at the age of 19 so now we've got to introduce

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_00]: people to what they have accessible in their life in their home in their environment in their city in

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_00]: their state that can help create a more continued loop instead of with the fitness industry at being

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: so focused on vanity it's so focused on how you look when we all can agree living in

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_00]: united states of america we put on a good front we make it seem like we've got it all figured

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_00]: out it's all super flashy it's this beautiful nice polish thing but deep down we've got some mental

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_00]: emotional and spiritual work we need to be willing to do and i believe through my journey as a fitness

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_00]: professional most fitness professionals who are mindful enough are going to be bridging the gap

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_00]: between the physical domain that we've been put in a box to do and really really leaning into

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_00]: in my opinion the mental the emotional and the spiritual domain and that's that represents the

[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_00]: fuel source for me especially in being able to get outside and move my body in space and not just in

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: a gym yeah i love that man like i love how you tie your mission right again how it started and

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: you know the vengeance but i love how you tied it now to again a bigger purpose right it's not

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: just about being healthy but it's like it's being healthy because you right as the single

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_02]: building block of society that you can control 100 you can go outside and then influence based on

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: you know you having health you can influence other things around you and again when we met

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_02]: i could tell that you have a huge love for new mexico and you know the outdoors and i love

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that part of what motivates you is getting people outside to experience those things

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and then they will also you know probably will fall in love with being outside and taking care

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_02]: of those environments right i think it's a it's an incredible mission i do want to back up a little

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: bit here actually back up quite a bit on the conversation um to make it a little bit it's a

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_02]: more specific content related question right but you were talking about how when you were in the gym

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_02]: inside of the time period of a year you're like i know i'm not gonna stay here right my guess is that

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: you saw how some of those businesses lack integrity right on the way they advertise the promises

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_02]: they make to people you know it is known that a lot of the big bucks gyms they make their money

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_02]: off of you know people that don't go to the gym right like they put them in these

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: yearly memberships and they're like cool they're not gonna come but they're still paying

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and they don't really do anything to force them back into the gym to get them into a healthy life so

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: like they don't care right right so you realize this which tells me this is a guy of integrity right

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the challenges i think in social media relates to what you mentioned of you know the

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_02]: vanity in the u.s is the fitness industry is a lot about vanity right the six pack the pecs you

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_02]: know and when you're talking about integrity and telling people like hey you can have this or

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe something related to this but it takes a lot of work right a lot of consistency like

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_02]: people don't market that message right people don't really go and say hey look it's gonna

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: take you about five years to build this and you know have the consistent habit and you

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_02]: know have a healthy lifestyle right so how do you balance right because now we also live in a world

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: of clickbait and you know what is the hook are we gonna get people hooked into our or products you

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: know you're gonna you're gonna have seven figure business in two days right so how do how do

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: you balance that integrity that message inside of your content so you can also get people's

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_02]: attention because again without attention without people coming into a world you can not fuel

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: your business and you can not fuel your mission right yeah very very bad point and good question so

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_00]: that that merger is always a really incredible balance to to substantiate to to establish

[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and the reason i say that is because one part of it is acknowledging you're not gonna get it

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_00]: perfect ever you're going to ebb and flow through i'll use myself as an example in the in the

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_00]: fitness industry it's easy for people to jump to quick fixes right because one they don't know

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_00]: any better relative to their journey so they're just trying what's out there and to a content

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_00]: perspective relative to how we've run our business in our work i've intermittently tried the quick

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_00]: fix related stuff because i didn't know any better so it was through that guided trial and error

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_00]: getting a better understanding of like how am i doing everything i can to stay as authentically

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_00]: integrated as a human being relative to what is my most valuable resource in my health the way

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_00]: i communicate with other people the way i communicate with myself so a lot of it has continued to

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_00]: practice what i preach with our clients may and i preach is you have to build a support system

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_00]: that allows you to pour from a full cup or a full or excuse me an overflowing cup so me really

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_00]: working on taking care of myself so that way when i do communicate through these podcasts through

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_00]: social media through email it's not just extending a virtual handshake it's extending a virtual hug

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_00]: to people and people can feel that through the medium of the type of content you put out

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_00]: i also say that as somebody who's continued to build my level of consistency in those practices

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_00]: so that way we can then amplify it even more which is also part of my gratitude for individuals like

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_00]: you you both who are willing to hold space for individuals like myself who are trying to grow

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_00]: in a way that i call consciously integrated and um that's been the main the main fuel source

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_00]: around like okay instead of trying to go for a lot of people to reach all at once which we all know

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_00]: doesn't usually happen that way it's a slow and steady build like you're you're you're doing slow

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and low when it comes to the world of cooking and when you cook stuff and slow and low in the

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_00]: world of barbecue things start to taste incredible yeah so if you're willing to be it would be

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_00]: patient you can have all those necessary ingredients in the larger scale operation

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: that you want but you just got to be willing to be patient which is no different than the world

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_00]: of fitness so it's me definitely taking my own coaching to clients into consideration when it

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_00]: comes to the content and the business for sure things it's like it's going to take time but

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_00]: it feels good while doing it and that's that's a key indicator for me yeah i hear a lot of uh

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_02]: the energy right that you kind of like translate throw your content and we've talked about that

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_02]: before right there's a few elements to creating content right like what you say how you're saying

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: it but one of those which you know doesn't really come as obvious at first for somebody that might be

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_02]: you know getting into content creation is the energy with which you say things you know you

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_02]: can say with somebody's not you can see and sense when somebody's not comfortable in front of the

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_02]: mic in front of the camera sharing their message right or how much you know believe they have into

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: what they're doing and me personally i feel like i get attracted a lot to the content of people that

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_02]: i know they both they have that belief right and i can sense that good energy like you said

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_02]: is rather than extending a hand the virtual hand this is like a virtual hug

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_02]: i think that's a great way to put it right it's like next time i'm going through content

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_02]: was this guy hugging me or just trying to give me a hand or slap yeah or slap right away right away

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_02]: right away yeah and i think that's a great way to put it and i'm curious right on your end

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_02]: where do you i mean we cannot explore that a little bit right but how can somebody maybe fosters

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: that energy right obviously you have a big story right with the industry right with

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: your own personal life with your experiences right everything from like you said body mind

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_02]: spirituality but i'm curious somebody you know that have a business right now and they say well

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe i do lack a little bit of that energy a little bit of that virtual hug how can i

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_02]: foster more of that how can i build up that it's a great question you know i

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_00]: think of two two things one is a quote by rom das i don't know if y'all are familiar with him

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_00]: at all he he's sense passed away but he said something really profound in that relative to

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_00]: the question that you asked it makes me think of something he mentioned where he stated the best

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_00]: way for you to take care of me is by taking care of yourself the best way for me to take care

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_00]: you is by taking care of myself and i take that into my second quote where it states the best way

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_00]: to get people to change is by not telling them to change it's by inspiring them through your own

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_00]: change and what i mean by that is on an individual level just trying to take as mindful and

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: compassionate of an inventory and audit so to speak of how you're communicating with yourself

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_00]: as a means of creating the fuel source to be motivated and do the work you need to do

[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and trying to really tease out how much of that is fueled by shame blame judgment anger

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_00]: vengeance trauma vengeance trauma whatever that might be and what part of it is actually rooted in

[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_00]: positive playful reinforcing encouragement to the point of luise's son and you getting him to jump

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_00]: in the water that was playful encouragement in driving behavior change right which in front of your

[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_00]: are your eyes in the flick of the wrist and one moment your son's behavior changes like cool

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_00]: fuck it i'm going to go do it this is fun and and thinking about what you're doing to encourage

[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_00]: playful curiosity in regards to the next disc or uncomfortable step you might need to make in

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: your business and your life but really paying attention to how you're communicating yourself

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_00]: in order to get that work done because if you're shaming yourself the entire time

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_00]: you're going to get exhausted because it's a low frequency way to speak to yourself it's a

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_00]: low energy way to speak to yourself or other people and we say in our role in fitness

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_00]: um you can't shame your way into change you can only love yourself in evolution

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's just you got to have a willingness to really lean into that and uncover what might

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_02]: what might help you in that regard yeah and you have some uh i want to say you have some good one

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: liner yes yeah i did sorry real quick you got uh i'm gonna hand you the mic and i won't forget

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_02]: what i need to ask but i i love again it goes back to the very beginning where i told you

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_02]: do you have so much clarity and you communicate so good one liners like those i think they are

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_02]: the evidence of that work that you have put in into creating content and and narrowing your

[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_01]: message to the degree that you have yeah um about i i love what you just said right um

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_01]: the playful curiosity in our life in our business right and as you were explaining that i was going

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_01]: through situations in my head in my business and also at home like one of them just yesterday right

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_01]: like end of the day exhausted kids need to go to bed they need to shower first they're not

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_01]: listening right and it's like it's very easy to get to a point of frustration and like just

[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_01]: scream at them right and at that point you know i'm guilty of it sometimes and then

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_01]: you see their reaction right they will not listen or they'll be in a bad mood they start

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_01]: crying and then things go downhill from there and then on the business side similar things right

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_01]: it might be end of the day maybe you had about about day at home or something external is affecting

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: you and then you're not in the right mental space to maybe talk to a client or tackle a call

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_01]: or x y z whatever that is and that might affect not only you but your team right and and the

[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_01]: people that are behind you so for those business owners parents whatever uh we had a

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_01]: conversation with jesse it's a long time ago and he he mentioned uh like a trigger right every time

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_01]: he flips like uh i think he's um he has like a necklace or a kitchen that he has like in his

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_01]: name when he flips and puts it back it's like action mode and it's like a trigger that he uses

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_01]: to get into work mode now i'm very interested to know what is your trigger for good and you

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_01]: because we're gonna inevitably we're gonna find those moments of low energy that we might not

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_01]: feel the best right that is not going to be 24 7 that we're gonna be feeling that way and uh is

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_01]: there something acknowledging for i think step one right like you just said and having the intention

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_01]: to to to be aware of that but then when you are knowledge it there's sometimes that i've

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_01]: really i've realized okay i acknowledge that i mean this pattern of energy but it somehow

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_01]: it feels like addicting to stay on that pattern of energy right how do i break that pattern how

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_01]: do i then switch is there a trigger that you use or something that you recommend doing at that moment

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_01]: because it could be like hey i need to switch from this energy moment because i had like a very important

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_01]: call in five minutes that might define the course of my business right or have this incredible

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_01]: podcast interview that you know i need to i need to deliver the best way possible uh so then

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_01]: the message reaches more people and we can help more people right and i think like getting

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_01]: that mental state is so important so is there something that you recommend people do

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_00]: once they identify that moment yeah the the key i think you've done half the work whenever you're

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_00]: able to identify right which most people have a really hard time with leaning into that to as

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_00]: much of a degree as maybe they quote unquote should the reason being is once you start

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_00]: developing a practice of communicating and being able to communicate that understanding or a ha or

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_00]: sense of awareness around your own behavior the second half of it starts to become actually much

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_00]: more easy so it's all centered in communication in my opinion and i think it can be summarized in

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_00]: one simple phrase the only problems we're unable to solve or the problems we're unwilling to talk

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_00]: about so if we're going through some sort of an internal transition energetically from being

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_00]: very very dialed in focus getting it done to an environment that is not going to necessitate

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_00]: that i truly believe there always needs to be some amount of space it could be a minute it could be

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: a few minutes of communicating with your spouse with your child with your family with your teammate

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_00]: communicating that transition and energy because otherwise we can't read each other's minds

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_00]: it just doesn't work that way so being able to congrade excuse me create a level of congruency

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_00]: between we'll just call them energy states of being with family and having to your point louise

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_00]: five minutes before a very critical focused means of communication and being able to communicate

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_00]: that in a way that is not combative it's collaborative and it really ties into not

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_00]: just what you say but how you say it so that way the message is received in the way that you

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_00]: were intending it to be received instead of it being really really really sticky really guarded

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_00]: really i would say combative i know i made mention of that word earlier but i do believe it's rooted

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_00]: in communication and the better you get at communicating it the easier it is going to

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: be for other people to understand it yeah now so awesome i'm thinking notes here like crazy

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_01]: but also there's gonna be times that i'm gonna be facing that on my own right like i'm gonna be

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_01]: aware of that energy right i'm like okay well i cannot just call somebody and undo that like is

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_01]: there something internal we're like okay i'm aware of this now is it just comes out in nature and

[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_01]: you hug a tree that's what you do is it just comes down to like a decision it could be as

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_01]: simple as that right it's i would love to give the listener today a tool where that we find

[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_01]: in the situation where like i'm aware this is happening and i have a choice either i follow

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_01]: this negative energy that feels super attractive and i you know that's in my head sometimes how it

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_01]: feels right it's like addictive to go there right uh or this is the other path and then

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_01]: you know on the train tracks you have like that little lever that you you move and then

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_01]: that the whole thing changes to the okay what's that lever like what can we do or what you

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_01]: recommend people do in that case for themselves okay i appreciate that and i appreciate you

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_00]: reflecting back this distinction of how it can be utilized in interpersonal dynamics when you're

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_00]: talking with another person and then how can you take it to yourself when you're by yourself

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_00]: you know what i mean so um that proverbial lever lever in mine and megan's world we use

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_00]: something called the five-minute rule we've all got five minutes i don't i don't care how busy

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_00]: our lives are we've got 30 seconds we've got a minute we've got two minutes and that proverbial

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_00]: lever through taking five minutes in my practice on myself but as well as with clients comes down

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_00]: to your breath put your phone down put your computer to sleep and give yourself five minutes

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_00]: to tune into your breath and just do what we like to call a mind body scan and just pay attention

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_00]: to what you're feeling physiologically what you're feeling emotionally what narratives you might have

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_00]: going on upstairs mentally that may be playing in from an ingredients perspective into the current

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_00]: physiological state that you're in while also it allows in my opinion it allows you to embrace

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_00]: that feeling and become a little bit more aware of it so you can transition to your point luise

[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_00]: to that other train track absolutely as opposed to as human beings it just seems really really

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_00]: counterintuitive if not impossible to make 90 degree angle turns all the time when it comes

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_00]: to our emotions we're not like that i believe we're more of think of your favorite artists that

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_00]: plays a super awesome mix or mix tape right part of the fun of music part of the fun of

[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_00]: content part of the fun of our is the transition yeah and how you can mindfully navigate that and

[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_00]: i think it's done through giving yourself five minutes to breathe quite frankly awesome i like

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_02]: that i feel like if i take five minutes to breathe i usually end up in a 30 minute nap but

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_01]: i saw a piece of content from like one of our awesome contest prophet all famous george brine

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_01]: right and he uh he talks about set your ceiling and your was it your roof and your floor right for

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_01]: an activity and in that specific case they're talking about daily morning routines right so it's

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_01]: like okay my my ceiling is like the perfect morning which is like two hours i'm gonna wake

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_01]: up i'm gonna do a breathing exercise excuse me i'm gonna i'm gonna breathe i'm gonna meditate

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_01]: i'm gonna do this workout it's gonna be perfect it's gonna last exactly two hours you know

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_01]: ice bath and then okay what's my floor my floor is i got three minutes and my three minutes i'm gonna

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_01]: wake up i'm gonna do five deep breaths i'm gonna do you know 15 push-ups 40 you know 20 squats and

[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_01]: that's it right so if you allow yourself and that to me was like incredibly useful that's it

[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_01]: because no man i fought so much with like a morning routine where it's like okay well i don't have

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_01]: the full 45 minutes i don't have the full 60 minutes or sometimes something happens right so i'm

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_01]: okay what happens i'm at peace with like anything in between is a win from my ceiling to the floor

[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_01]: and as long as i do that is positive momentum in my day so like i recently saw that so i think

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_01]: that's great because even with a five-minute rule right might not be five minutes like that might be

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_01]: you know the the the ceiling right but my roof is like maybe i do 10 very intentional deep breaths

[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_02]: right at the end of the day yeah i think the the important word there too is intentional

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_02]: right and the intention i remember uh book i was reading brandon bouchard a while back and he was

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_02]: talking how whenever he goes into a room he like stops under like right before going through the

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_02]: door and he says all right in this room i'm gonna do x y and see this is my intention for what i'm

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_02]: going to do here right and that five-minute rule kind of reminded me of that as well which is

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_02]: okay let me i mean at the end of the day it all start also with a choice because you have

[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_02]: to make the the five minutes are not gonna do be done by themselves right you need to choose i'm

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_02]: gonna take these five minutes to create that intention and then using that space that you

[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_02]: created those five minutes or one minute whatever it is to again be intentional and say this is

[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_02]: what i'm gonna do next regardless of how i'm feeling right now right and also for those listening

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: it's okay if that in those five minutes you're like i'm gonna take a break right like maybe what

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_02]: i need it's a break and you know go out for a walk and you know hug the tree hug the tree always

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah that thing that those are great i feel like we've explored today

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_02]: an aspect of content that we've honestly i would say maybe never explore right that that that

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_02]: deeper energetical level energy anywhere maybe i don't know you know

[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_02]: or english is not the best no very good looking i mean i just remember like there's so many

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_01]: situations that i've seen you know people walk into our studio right and they booked this time

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_01]: they make the time to make it here to drive all the way to you know look good and and

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_01]: and then they might not be on a mental state to do something like that so i think like this

[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_01]: is so useful you know and for a lot of people that have been creating for a long period of time

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe it's something that comes second nature right where it's like okay i turn my camera on and

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_01]: i'm ready to go but we deal with a lot of people that are maybe starting in this journey that are

[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_01]: like maybe it's the first spot gets the first interview the first conversation and there's

[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_01]: so many elements outside of this that can affect their creation process right so i think

[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_01]: it's super cool where it's like okay if you walk through this door we have like a little

[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_01]: corner where we take you know 10 intentional deep breaths before we start the five

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_01]: meter corner where we like before we start recording that's what we're gonna do and we're

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_01]: gonna leave everything outside and i think that you know if we have a routine like that where it's

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_01]: like okay before every interview before every conversation before every piece of content i

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_01]: do that i have a pre-creation routine that puts my mind in this place i think that energy

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_01]: will translate so well in not only the content that we're creating but also in the message

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_01]: and we're gonna reach out and we're gonna tap into into maybe the people that we really

[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_01]: want to attract you know how many times that we started this show where it's like

[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_01]: man we're like we just came out of a maybe a team call and it's like we're rushed and he's

[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_01]: all this and maybe the energy is not the best right and maybe your energy might not be the

[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_01]: best oh man i always perform for you sure sure or uh or the many times that you know you

[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_01]: tell me you're gonna be on time and it's like five minutes later and i'm like oh come on

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_01]: fauncey where are you i'm just giving you your space you're five minutes that's all it is

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_01]: i'm just giving you your five minutes all i'm saying is that for the creation process i think

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_01]: that's super useful and uh and i hope people listening right now are not ignoring it right i

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_01]: think it's like maybe we can make a space for that and maybe that five minute breathing might look like

[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_01]: you know playing corn in the background and rocking real good right like what are your five

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_02]: minutes yeah i mean tony robbins jumps on us little trampoline before he goes out on stage

[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_02]: right like everybody has like those routines that again your pregame routine jesse isler with

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the necklace like again what is that that thing that sets you up for success yeah awesome the

[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_01]: apache what a cool conversation man thank you so much thank you uh comment is there anything else you

[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_00]: want to add i don't know i think we covered it like it was it was i feel like we covered everything

[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_00]: in a very seamless organic it was a good it was a good flow so i i don't know that i have anything

[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_00]: to add other than we talked about so i think we're great thank you where can people find you
